Focus on Music Ministries
The mission of the Music Ministry at First Baptist Church is to help persons develop and use their talents to glorify our Lord.  To that end, we offer a diverse program of quality music for worship and music education to persons of all ages.

Approximately 100 children, youth, college students, and adults are involved in some aspect of the music ministry, many on a weekly basis... and there's always room for more to join us!
Ongoing music groups in the church include:
The Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary Choir at First Baptist consists of dedicated individuals who desire that the music prepared for worship not be a performance, but an integral part of the Worship Experience.  The choir meets each Wednesday at 7:30 pm for rehearsal.

At the repeated requests of Church Members the Choir has recorded two (2) cassette tapes, An Expression of Gratitude and Give Me Jesus. These cassettes are available from the Church Office.

If you would like to become a part of the Sanctuary Choir, Handbell Choir or the Music Ministry in any other way, please contact Minister of Music Kay Ellerman.
Adult Handbell Choir

The Adult Handbell Choir participates in worship several times a year. One young mother recently commented that the Handbell Choir provides an opportunity for her to be involved in a musical experience with other adults at a time when her children are involved in mission groups.  The choir meets in the Choir Suite on Sundays at 6:30 pm.
Music Education

We seek to help young people:
  • To grow spiritually and musically;
  • To understand that the art of music is a gift from God; and
  • To learn the joy of ministering with this gift.
Children and youth are involved in age appropriate experiences that include singing and playing a variety of instruments.
